Bedford/Lenox second Place Finish

Drew Venteicher, a senior, wrestling at 170, pinned Plowman of ACGC in 20 seconds. Drew is currently tied with Dusten Reed for the most career wins by a Bedford/Lenox wrestler.

Devin Whipple, wrestling at 285, pinned Butler of ACGC in 35 seconds.

The road to Wells Fargo started on Saturday, February 8th at Guthrie Center with Class 1A Sectional 13 wrestling. The Bedford/Lenox team had nine athletes compete with four of them winning their bracket to advance to districts in Underwood on Saturday, February 15th. The team with their second place finish qualifies for Regional Duals to be held at Logan Magnolia on Tuesday, February 11th where they will square off with Missouri Valley. Final team standings were the host team Adair Casey-Guthrie Center (ACGC) 162 points, Bedford 154 points, West Central Valley (Stuart) 153 points, Nodaway Valley 135 points, Southwest Valley 131 points, Audubon 80 points, Griswold 39, Coon Rapids-Bayard 35.5 points.

Mizael Gomez had a tough match with Lundquist from Southwest Valley and was able to get the pin with less than a minute to go in the third round.

Freshman Jake Cox, wrestling at 152 pounds, took first place at Sectionals last Saturday and will wrestle at Districts this Saturday in Underwood. His second match of the day ended in a 9-6 over West Central Valley.
