School board moves forward in Bidding elementary roof project

The Lenox School Board held a lengthy meeting on Wednesday, April 8. They held three public hearings, approved the resignation of one teacher and hired a replacement, reviewed plans for updating elementary playground, approved list of 2020 seniors for graduation, and approved items dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first hearing dealt with the 2020-2021 budget. There were no comments received. The budget shows $2,271,167 in taxes levied on property and state aid of $3,013,956. Total revenues are $25,894,872. Expenses total $20,101,492. The proposed property tax levy is $15.90061 per $1,000 taxable valuation. The board approved the budget and the proposed levy rate.
The second hearing was for the 2020-2021 school calendar. No comments were received. The elementary and secondary principals surveyed the staff to determine their preference on some calendar items.
