Julia “Judi” Jayne Hinshaw, 76, passed away on August 13, 2020 at Clearview Nursing Home in Mt Ayr, Iowa.
Judi was born March 2nd, 1944 in Creston, Iowa, to Dollie Irene and Donald Rex Reed. She married Gary Wayne Hinshaw in March 1962 and gave birth to four children: Brenda, Brent, Becky, and Brandon.
Judi had a green thumb, planted gardens, and canned everything she and Gary grew; cared for the elderly; and had know-how and skills that would put any handy man to shame. She loved baseball and the Chicago Cubs, was an avid book reader, worked hard and loved hard her entire life, had a no-nonsense attitude, and taught all who knew her that nothing ever comes easy or free in this world. She was clever, smart and witty, often her children were told by others “I love her so much because she just ‘tells it like it is’”.
She is greatly missed by her five grandchildren, Coleman, Benjamin, Tyler, Ryan and Shannon, her daughters-in-law Colleen and Katrina, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Welcoming her in heaven is the only man she ever loved, her parents, and her sisters Effie, Lorene, Pearl and Betty.
Ask anyone in town. Judi “Loved her kids!”
We love you too Mom, and miss you so very, very much.
At Judi’s request, no services will be held. If you would like to share sentiments or a fun or inspirational story about our mom Judi, please email: boaxaca@gmail.com  We would love to hear from you. Cremation services were handles by Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
