Private Family Funeral Services for Helen Belding, 85, of Lenox will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held, without the family present, Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at the Ritchie Funeral Home from 12 PM to 1 PM. Interment will be held at West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Helen Louise (Miller) Belding was born December 14, 1935, to Homer John Miller and C. Marie (Key) Miller. Helen grew up attending Kent through grade school and graduated from Lenox High School in 1954.
On December 12, 1954 Helen was united in marriage to Mervin Clyde Belding at the Lenox United Methodist Church. To this blessed union four children Rodney, Denise, Jan and Jolene were born. The couple made their home 7 miles southwest of Lenox for one year before moving to Clyde’s grandparents farm where they resided until moving to Lenox in 2010.
The couple enjoyed the farming lifestyle and all that it had to offer. Helen raised and dressed chickens for many years providing many excellent meals for her family. She was an excellent cook and was featured in Today’s Farmer for her accomplishments. Helen enjoyed sewing for all of her children and grandchildren too. She and Clyde enjoyed bowling, square dancing, card club, attending and supporting athletic events of their children and grandchildren, even after the graduation of their grandchildren. Helen was also recognized by the 4-H Hall of Fame for her dedication and work.
Left to cherish Helen’s memory are her husband of 66 years, Clyde Belding; son, Rodney (Joan) Belding, their children, Shilo, Brooke, Amanda, BreeAnn, and Katelyn; daughters, Denise (Dave) Reynolds and daughter Paige; Jan (Tom) Reed and children, Cory, Cody, Cole, Cruz, Makinze; Jolene (Dave) Gourley and children, Justin, Mitch, and Beth; along with 32 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Miller and C. Marie Miller; and in-laws, Mervin Reed Belding and Ruth and Lyle Raines.
