Betty Jane (Jones) Kitzman

Betty Jane (Jones) Kitzman passed away peacefully at her home in Mesa, Arizona, on February 26, 2021. She was born on April 9, 1931 to Glenn and Mildred (Welch) Jones. Betty’s father, Glenn, passed away when she was 8 years old. Her mother, Mildred, remarried in 1941 to Thomas Henry/Harry Dunn. Betty graduated high school in 1948 from Liberty Consolidated School. After graduation, she worked at Deaconess Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa. This is where she met John Kitzman and they were married October 22, 1950. They lived in the Iowa communities of Beaman, Colo and Lenox. While living in Lenox, Betty worked as a secretary at the Elementary school in Lenox for 10 years. In 1978, Betty and John retired to a house in Apache Junction, Arizona. The couple enjoyed lots of traveling in their motor home and a trip to Europe. They, also, enjoyed the many visits with family and friends through the years.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her children Karen (Robert) Fudge, Diane (Rodney Chapman) Kitzman, Janice Boulden, Steven (Paula Sink) Kitzman, Ron Kitzman and Kathy (Jr Hofbauer) England. She has 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, John, and her parents. Graveside service will be held at the Oakland Cemetery, Beaman, Iowa on May 29, 2021 at 10:00 am.
