Century and Heritage Farm Families honored at Iowa State Fair Program celebrates farms that have been in the same family for 100 and 150 years, respectively

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation President Craig Hill and Vice President Joe Heinrich honored 681 Iowa farm families with Century or Heritage Farm designations at the Iowa State Fair. The program celebrates farms that have been owned by the same families for 100 and 150 years, respectively.
Stan and Dorothy Knox received the award for a Heritage Farm in Taylor County. Lyle and Gladys Knox are the fifth generation to inherit the Knox Heritage Farm. The farm was homesteaded in 1868 by Lyle’s great great grandmother’s father, Ruebon Leonard. The farm is located three miles west of Clearfield on 170th Street and has been known over the years to be called Hog Branch Stock Farm.
