Bedford/Lenox Sends Six to Districts

On Saturday the Bedford/Lenox squad competed in Class 1A Sectional 12 wrestling at Riverside. The team accumulated 187 points to place second behind the host team Riverside with 209 points. West Central Valley finished in third with 169 points, followed by AC/GC with 166 points, Southwest Valley 132.5 points, East Union 82 points, East Mills 45 points and Griswold 22 points.
The team finished with three sectional champions in Dalton Kitzman (138 lbs), Jake Cox (182 lbs) and Devin Whipple (285 lbs) to advance to districts on Saturday, February 12th at Underwood with a chance to advance to state. Mizael Gomez (106 lbs), Chase England (120 lbs) and Dylan Stein (126 lbs) were all runner ups in their respected weight divisions and advance to wrestle at districts also.

Good luck at districts to the six Bedford/Lenox wrestlers that look to advance to state wrestling on Wednesday, February 16th at Wells Fargo Arena!

These wrestlers placed first or second at Sectionals and qualified to compete at districts this Saturday. Wrestlers advancing are: from left, Devin Whipple, Dalton Kitzman, Dylan Stein, Jake Cox, Mizael Gomez, and Chase England.

Senior Mizael Gomez at 106 took second place at Sectionals and heads to districts.

Jake Cox makes quick work of his opponent to get the pin and a first place finish to advance to Districts

Dylan Stein, wrestling at 126, took second at Sectionals and advances to Districts.

Senior Devin Whipple pinned Zimmerman of Riverside in 52 seconds to take first place at sectionals and qualify for districts.

Dalton Kitzman took first place at Sectionals and heads to districts. In his final match, he defeated Riverside 6-0, a match that had no points scored until the third period.
