Funeral Celebration of Life Services for Tomas DelaRosa, age 76, of Lenox, who passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska was held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Lenox. Visitation was held two hours prior to services with the family greeting friends. Cremation will follow the services with interment of ashes at a later date. Memorials may be given in his name. Memories may be shared with the family at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Bedford where we ‘Celebrate Life’.
Tomas Dela Rosa was born September 12, 1945, in Comanja de Corona, Jalisco Mexico the son of Maria Martina Dela Rosa. He grew up in Mexico attending school. After school Tomas worked as a self-employed produce grower and seller. He was blessed with the birth of six children while living in Mexico, Emma, Javier, Tomas, Olivia, Gabby and Edgardo. In 1989, he moved to Lenox, Iowa where he had a job opportunity with the Sheridan Egg Company.
While living in Lenox, Tomas met Marina Chavez and the couple were united in marriage. They made their home in Lenox, and Tomas continued working for Sheridan Egg Company, eventually it became Michael’s Foods and later he went to work for Dalton Ag.
In his spare time, Tomas enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He looked forward to gardening and watching boxing matches and soccer on TV. Growing up, Tomas was an excellent athlete, often challenging people to races either running or swimming!
Left cherish Tomas’s memory are his loving wife Marina DelaRosa of Lenox, Iowa; his children, Emma and husband Daniel Becerra of Mexico; Tomas Dela Rosa of Mexico; Olivia and husband Juan Hernandes of Mexico; Gabriela and husband Juan Mondragon of Osceola, Iowa; Edgardo Dela Rosa and wife Yolanda of Omaha, Nebraska; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; 4 step-children; 28 grandkids, 6 grate grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Tomas in death is his mother M. Martina Dela Rosa; an infant son, Javier De La Rosa; sister, Maria De La Rosa
We will forever hold Tomas’s memory in our hearts.
