Dale Wearmouth, 92, of Creston, died Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston 601 New York Avenue. Services will be live streamed. Pastor Ben Carter-Allen will officiate. Burial will be at Moon Cemetery near Macksburg. Memorials can be left for the family. Online condolences can be left at www.powersfh.com.
Dale Harris Wearmouth, son of Thomas E. Wearmouth and Opal (Eldridge) Wearmouth, was born June 15, 1929, in Madison County, Iowa. He graduated from the Macksburg High School in 1949.
On November 7, 1954, Dale was united in marriage to Ava Blake in Sharpsburg, Ia. They settled on the farm in Madison County south of Macksburg where he farmed. To this union was born three daughters. In 1974, he purchased a farm Southeast of Macksburg where he continued to farm. Dale enjoyed time with his family, supporting “his girls,” camping, square dancing and taking loving care of his farm animals.
Survivors include his wife Ava Wearmouth of Creston; three daughters, Susan Myers (husband Russel) of Middletown, Pa., Sharon Cox of Macksburg, Ia. and Sally Brown (Rick) of Lenox, Ia.; ten grandchildren, Samantha (husband Wesley) Mowers, Seth Myers, Amanda (husband Ryan) Summers, Kelly Cox, Nick (wife Caitlyn) Cox, Jennifer Smith, Jared Breakenridge (Kyle), D.J. (wife Shawna) Brown, Mitchell Brown and Megan (husband Cody) McMann; eight great-grandchildren, Kayson Mowers, Landon Summers, Collin Summers, Emma Cox, Eli Cox, Hailley Brown, Daysen Gregg and McCoy McMann; two sisters-in-law Martha Blake and JoAnne Wearmouth.
Dale was preceded in death, by his parents, brother Russell Wearmouth and sister Norma Winkler and son-in-law Craig Cox.
