Lenox School Board approves early retirement request from Sherri Bolinger

Lenox School Board accepted an early retirement request, approved change orders for the facility project, resignations, new hires, and ICAP plan at their September 14 meeting.
The board accepted a request for early retirement from Sherri Bolinger, Instructional Coach, effective at the end of the 2022-23 school year. The board discussed the school policy for early retirement plan. Superintendent Dave Henrichs said they planned on discussing it at their September 28 work session because of the shortage of teachers. Bolinger’s request comes in before that meeting. Henrichs said they have four teachers who are currently eligible for early retirement. Two were not interested in early retirement at this time and one other person is considering it. Henrichs recommended they approve the request.
Board chairman Kurtis Christensen suggested that if they remove the early retirement policy, they should do it earlier in the school year to give staff time to plan ahead.
Resignations approved were Geraldine Amaya, superintendent’s secretary, effective September 23; Cassandra McClain, secondary paraeducator, effective September 16; and Nick Hodges, co-junior class sponsor.
New hires were: Tyler Peterson, co-high school student council sponsor; Caleb Lange, Doug Junker and Seth Willets, volunteer high school football coach; Jennifer Gay, co-junior class sponsor; and Tana Hernandez, superintendent’s secretary; Bernice Rodriguez, ELL paraeducator. A contract amendment was for Leah Henderson to go from high school student council sponsor to co-high school student council sponsor.
