Bulldogs Hit Break at 8-1

By Jason Bucher

On Monday the Bulldog Faithfull traveled to Stanton for a non conference showdown. The Bulldogs used a big first quarter to get the lead and then a big fourth quarter to close out the game for a 65-55 win to move to 8-0.
Basketball is a game of runs and this game had its fair share of them. Asher Weed got the party started when he broke down the defense and drove to the hoop for a right handed lay up. After a home team freebie made it 2-1 with 6:53 on the clock, the Dawgs went on a 10-0 run (buckets by Bryson Ewart, Silas Walston, Tristen Cummings, and Cal Peterman and Weed freebies) that held Stanton scoreless until 2:30 left in the quarter with a 12-3 Bulldog lead. After a home team trey, Walston powered in a bucket from the block that made it 14-6. Conner Nally then gathered a lose ball and bulleted a pass to a slashing Peterman in the lane for a 16-6 Bulldog score.
