Dannie Hugh Kinder

Dannie Hugh Kinder was born August 7, 1945 at Reed Hospital in Bethany, MO to Olen Wayne Kinder and Catherine Juanita (Sweeney) Kinder. Dannie died peacefully on December 27, 2022, at Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, IA.
Dannie grew up most of his younger life in the Pawnee/Hatfield, MO area where he worked on the family farm and raised dairy cattle. During his younger years he was a member of the local saddle club and his senior year of high school he served as North Harrison FFA President, an achievement he was always proud of. In 1963, upon graduating high school in Eagleville, MO, he met and married Connie Benedict on November 15,1964. From that union they were blessed with a daughter, Julie Ann Kinder and a son, Andy Wayne Kinder. Dannie and Connie later divorced.
On August 7th, 1972, Dannie and Carol Ann England were united in marriage and Dannie gained a stepdaughter Bobbi Jo and step-son Jeffrey (deceased). They started out living in Emerson, IA and on May 14, 1974, they were blessed with a daughter Angela Sue Kinder. In 1977 the family settled and lived many years in Clearfield, IA and in 1998 Dannie and Carol Ann moved back to the family farm near Pawnee/Hatfield, MO.
Dannie had started a career as an OTR truck driver around 1971 and as hard as he tried 9-5 jobs throughout the years, the road would start calling and he couldn’t help climbing back up in that truck. Dannie’s love of horses continued throughout his life and, as a family, were members of the Clearfield Saddle Club. As many know, Dannie also had the “gift of gab”, a trait that has been passed down through the generations and he always had tales of his millions of miles spent on the road. Dannie didn’t know a stranger and could spend hours visiting with his ‘trucker buddies” or really anyone for that matter. Dannie cherished time with his grandkids and loved to take Carol Ann and the grandkids camping out in the timber near their home in Missouri. Dannie would have to pack up every camping gadget he had and everything but the kitchen sink to camp overnight a mile from their home cause “ya never know when you might need that.” Dannie retired from trucking while living in Missouri and filled his time working odd jobs and making improvements on their property. After many years living back on the home place, due to his loving wife’s declining health they then moved back to Clearfield, IA in 2014 with Carol Ann passing away on January 1st, 2017. Dannie remained in Clearfield until an unforeseen health issue forced him to be cared for by the wonderful staff at Clearview Nursing Home.
Left to cherish Dannie’s memory are his mother Catherine Kinder; daughter Julie (Kinder) Ury; son Andy (Beth) Kinder; daughter Angela Kinder and partner Chris England; stepdaughter Bobbi Jo (Varner) Bartles and Dannie’s sister Delsa (Kinder) Brooks. Dannie’s grandchildren include Ashly (Longfellow) Green, Aaron Ury, Josiah Ury, Rhylie (Jesse) Dick, Elliott and Jacob Kinder, Dalton (Kylie) Kinder, Devon Cole, Kaylie Cole and partner Josh Degase, Kenzie (Devin) Winemiller, Jade Cole and partner Stephanie Miller, Tyson Banks and partner Greta Brooks, Taylor Banks, Trey White and Tanner (Keaton) Osthoff; eighteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
