By Tylerr Peterson
The Lenox Tigers girls basketball team fell at home this past week to the visiting Mt. Ayr Raiderettes with a final score of 28-45. Lenox trailed by just two possessions in the first half, but a big second half catapulted Mt. Ayr to a double digit win.
Sophomore Izzy Curtis led the Tigers in scoring on the night. Curtis shot 50% from beyond the arc for her nine points, in addition to her four rebounds. Sophomore Zoey Reed had a balanced performance from the point guard position with six points, six rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
On the road at Southeast Warren the Lenox girls scored 26 points in the first quarter and 15 in the second quarter to jump out to a 41-25 lead into the locker room at halftime. In the second half the Lenox ladies outscored the Warhawks 33-31 to cruise to a road victory 74-56. As a team the girls shot 44% from the field, out rebounded SEW by nine, and forced 21 turnovers.
The 74 points came from just three Tigers; Sadie Cox, Zoey Reed, and Cadence Douglas had monster games!
