Annette (Goeken) Dougherty was born March 7, 1938 in Scribner, Nebraska the daughter of Rudolph Goeken and Christina (Stieren) Goeken. She attended catholic grade school and South High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Richard Dougherty on April 23, 1955. The couple farmed in Nebraska and then moved to Iowa. Annette was the ‘ultimate multi-tasker’! She helped her husband farm and took care of her two daughters. After Richard could no longer farm, he became a semi owner/operator and Annette worked as a cook for 20 years at the Lenox Community High School. She retired in 2013, but continued to keep busy in her garden. She was always active in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. She passed away on March 27, 2023, but will always be with us.
Annette is survived by her two daughters Cheryl Ramsbottom and husband Richard; and Cathy Rutz and husband Dave; her grandchildren, Noelle Schrader and Nicole Cunningham and husband Jesse; her great-grandchildren, Laytyn Parrish, Olivia and Channing Cunningham, Leo and Jack Albenesius; her two sisters, Gladys Skinner and Shirley Bierlein; along with many loved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding Annette in death are her parents Rudolph and Christina Goeken; her loving husband Richard Dougherty in 2013; two sisters, Rita and Janice; and one brother, Dale.
We will forever hold Annette’s precious memory in our hearts.
May she be at peace in God’s loving care.
