Softball Looks to Rebound

By Tyler Peterson
The Tiger softball team unfortunately didn’t have the same winning success as the baseball team, but none-the-less took steps of improvement last week.
Tuesday Lenox fell at Mt. Ayr 12-5. There were five runs on seven hits, and three errors in the loss.
Senior Cadence Douglas took the loss in the circle allowing seven earned runs to a tough hitting Raiderette team.
The Tigers had four runs on seven hits, and two errors.
Cadence Douglas, sophomore Allison Davis, and freshman Delaney Funk combined in the circle. Douglas sat down three on strikes with Funk taking the ‘L.’
Douglas took the loss in the circle striking out one, and all 12 runs were earned for SEW. Douglas had a single, Cox extended her hitting streak once again with a hit, Zoey Reed, Hadlee Christensen, and Emilee Reed did the same with singles, and junior Dayna Robinson got in on the hitting with a single.
Friday the Tigers fell to Pride of Iowa Conference foe Nodaway Valley 8-4. Three different Tigers had multi-hit games. Piper Brokaw had a great evening at the dish going 3-4 with two doubles, a single, one run scored, and a RBI. Zoey Reed had two singles, a run scored, and a RBI. Dayna Robinson had a pair of singles, one RBI, and reached on an error.
Sadie Cox’s hitting streak continued to four games as she has stayed very consistent for Head Coach Mandy Stoaks notching a triple. Cadence had a single and an RBI to help herself in the circle, Danielle Robinson had a hit and scored a run, and finally Emilee Reed put together another solid performance going .500 with a single and hit-by-pitch. Tiger Pride!
