Lenox Volleyball Rundown

By Tyler Peterson
This past week the Lenox Tiger Volleyball club played a quad at home on Tuesday, and traveled to Malvern to play a single match against East Mills. The Tigers finished 1-3 on the week, but the match that was won against Clarinda was a true gritty team effort.
Lenox kicked off the quad at home against Clarinda. The Cardinals took the first set 25-21 over the Tigers. Lenox bounced back in a huge way fighting hard in the second set to win 31-29! The girls were one point from losing several times, but kept their composure and finished strong. In the final set the Tigers took an early lead and rode their momentum from the prior set to victory 15-11.
Next up the Tigers took on Stanton. In back and forth volleyball the Tigers were just a couple key points away from victory. Stanton took the first set 16-25 and the second set to win the match 19-25.
In the final match to conclude the quad the Tigers fell to Pride of Iowa opponents Mt. Ayr 23-25, 25-17, and 11-15. The familiar opponents played sound ball in all components of the match, and will be a must see later this season when they meet up again in September.
Thursday the 31st the Tigers were back on the road to Malvern in a non-conference match against East Mills. Lenox fell in three straight sets; 10-25, 12-25, and 18-25 to the Wolverines.
