Bedford City Council tables action on request for large billboard

     The Bedford City Council heard a request to construct a billboard in city limits at the regular meeting held on September 13. They also approved bids for various equipment and approved the sale of a lot. 

     Mayor Churchill opened the public hearing on proposed sale of real estate at 906 Court Avenue and opening of sealed bids. There was one bid in the amount of $1,000.00 from Jeff Longfellow. Mr. Longfellow plans to clear the house on that property. The council approved Resolution 2023-37 approving disposal of real estate at 906 Court.

     Chad Hager and Tom Wicks from Summit Signs presented a request to construct a billboard on property located at the Junction Café to the council. Summit Signs has signed a 25-year lease on the property with Pete and Jeannie Bird.
