FMTC announces plans to bring fiber internet to Bedford

Bedford is one of four communities that is scheduled to get fiber internet and from Farmers Mutual Telephone Company in a recent news release.
Officials with FMTC announced plans to bring fiber internet and voice services within the city limits of Bedford, Clarinda, Red Oak, and Corning. Phase one of construction is scheduled to begin in May which includes two sections, Clarinda and Red Oak, that will entail roughly half of the respective community’s population.
“When we’re doing this, one thing we needed to do was make sure we could get to the most customers the most quickly, so we could get them turned on, get revenue coming in for us, and get customers on service,” said Pals. “That was the reason we landed on Red Oak and Clarinda to start out in ’24.”
