Voters elect Cabbage in
County supervisor race
Voter turnout in Taylor County and across Iowa were below 20% in the June 2 primary election. Taylor County recorded 18.89% while the statewide turnout was more than 19%. Statewide turnout was higher than in 2022 when statewide turnout was a little over 16%. There are 3,780 registered voters in Taylor County and 714 ballots were cast.
The only local race was for District 1 Taylor County Supervisor. Republican Rick Cabbage defeated Republican Charles Ambrose with Cabbage receiving 176 votes and Ambrose with 97 votes. Ron Fitzgerald is currently serving in District 1 and did not seek another term in office.
