Myrtle Leola Beckett Adams

Myrtle Leola Beckett Adams was born December 28, 1938, in rural Ringgold county to Lester H. Beckett and Geneva Price Beckett Curphey. She attended rural Taylor county schools and Lenox grade school. She acquired her GED and worked in the Lenox Care Center for several years.
On October 11, 1969, she was married to Raleigh Adams and they made their home in Mt. Ayr. She was a good housekeeper and cook. She worked at the Mt. Ayr Health Care Center for 23 years until ill health forced her to quit working in 1997. Raleigh passed away in 2004 and Leola continued to live in Mt. Ayr, making many friends.
Leola passed away September 15, 2019 at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center.
She is survived by sisters Imogene Mains of Creston, Lois Lamb of Mt. Ayr, Janice Miller (Mike) of Creston, and brother David Beckett of Lenox; many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Preceding her in death were her husband Raleigh Adams, mother, father, brother Earl Beckett, sister Jane Sanburn, niece Linda Sobotka, and nephew David Sobotka.
Memorials will be decided at a later date by the family.
Open visitation will be Thursday, September 19, from 12 PM to 8 PM at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mt. Ayr. Family visitation will be Friday, September 20, at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Mt. Ayr with funeral following at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mt. Ayr.
