Graveside Cele-bration of Life Services for Melinda Huntington, age 54, who passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in Des Moines, Iowa was held Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Visitation followed the services at the Lenox Community Center.
Memorials may be given in her name. Due to Covid-19 we ask that you bring your lawn chair to the cemetery and make your visit both there and at the community center brief. Melinda Faye Huntington, age 54 of Pleasant Hill, Iowa passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Melinda went to be with her Lord on August, 18 2020.
Melinda was born in Hamlet , North Carolina on June 21, 1966. She is the daughter of Reldon and Claudia Huntington of Lenox, Iowa. Melinda graduated from Lenox High School in 1984 where she loved playing softball and playing the bass saxophone in the band. Melinda attended Patricia Stevens Institute of Art and Business in Omaha, Nebraska. Throughout her life Melinda worked at several businesses in Lenox, southwest Iowa and the Des Moines metropolitan area. In her last few years she worked in sales and she loved the interactions that she had with her customers.
Melinda was a wonderful artist who enjoyed drawing and painting as well as arts and crafts. She was a giving and devoted friend to many. All who knew her will miss her smile and infectious laugh. She had a big heart and she truly cared for everyone.
Melinda will be fondly remembered by her father Reldon Huntington, brother Bill (Diana) Huntington; sister Beth (Andy) McCutchan, sister Becky (Lance) Wignall nieces and nephews Emily (Kevin) Irr, Joseph Huntington, Olivia Huntington, Lauren Wignall, Owen Wignall and Briella McCutchan.
Melinda is preceded in death by her mother Claudia Huntington and her niece Brooklyn McCutchan.
We will forever hold Melinda’s memory in our hearts.
