January 12,2022 Virginia Bennett, 92

Memorial Celebration of Life Services for Virginia Bennett, age 92, formerly of Lenox who passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given in Virginia’s name. Memories may be shared with the family at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Bedford where we ‘Celebrate Life’.
Virginia Mae (Reynolds) Bennett was born September 3, 1929,  in Lenox, Iowa the daughter of Pearl Reynolds and Annis (Trost) Reynolds.  She had three brothers and three sisters, Gerald, Harold, Robert, Betty, Evelyn and Adelyne.  She grew up in Lenox attending school, graduating from the Lenox High School with the Class of 1947.  Virginia was united in marriage to Roy E. Bennett on June 6, 1949.  They were blessed with two children, Jacquelyn Kay and James Edwin.
Virginia was the Treasurer for the City of Lenox and former Administrator of the Lenox Care Center for twenty years.  She enjoyed traveling, camping and playing cards with friends.
Left cherish Virginia’s memory are her two children, daughter Jackie Erspamer and husband Joe of Omaha, Nebraska; son Jim Bennett of Urbandale, Iowa; five grandsons, Joshua of Omaha, Nebraska; Jordan and wife Nicole of Springfield, Nebraska; Jared and wife Marisa of Troutman, North Carolina; Jacob and wife Allison of Urbandale, Iowa and Johnathan and wife Liz of Minneapolis, Minnesota; eight great-grandchildren, Isabella, Grace, Ashtan, Chase, Eli, Silas, Olson, and Camden; a sister, Adelyn and husband Jack Cox of Hornick, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Miller Reynolds of California and Dot Reynolds of Carroll, Iowa; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding Virginia in death are her parents, Pearl and Annis Reynolds; her loving husband Roy in 1988; three brothers, Gerald, Harold and Robert; two sisters, Betty and Evelyn; two brothers-in-law, Gene Holben and Fred Ver Steeg.
It is difficult to say
good-bye to someone we love.
May she rest in peace in God’s loving care.
