Garbage rates go up with June billing

The Lenox City Council approved an increase in garbage rates, pool managers, and a lease for a tractor for the golf course at their May 22 meeting.
Due to an increase in landfill rates, Tom Christensen has asked for an increase in garbage rates as well as an increase in cost of living. Landfill fees went up 40 cents. The council approved a 60 cent increase effective with the June billing.
Two applications were received for Lenox Pool manager. Caitlyn Maynes and Brooklynn Ecklin were hired as managers at $15 per hour. This is the fifth year they have worked at the pool. Wages for seasonal pool employees were approved with lifeguards starting at $10 per hour with a 50 cent increase for each returning year.
