Clearfield Fourth of July activities include tractor pull, parade, fireworks
The year is almost half over and the 73rd Clearfield Fourth of July celebration is only 10 days away.
This year’s theme is celebrating America’s 250th birthday, “Stars, Stripes and Service 250 Years Strong”.
Clearfield Lions Club will sponsor a 5K Glow Run on Thursday, July 2. Choose from 5K walk or run, 2 mile walk or run or come for fun. There will be five ages classes. To register call 641-344-6041 for information.
Clearfield Lions Club Home Run Derby will be on Friday, July 3 from 6-8 p.m.
The popular Truck and Tractor Pull will kick off the weekend on Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m. Northwest Missouri Tractor Pullers Association will have three classes: 8500 Pro Farm Tractor; 8500 Pro Field A Pump Tractor; Open Class; 9500 Pro Field P Pump Tractor; 2.6” Turbo Diesel Pickup; 8200 Limited Pro Stock Tractor. Saturday morning begins with a sandlot volleyball in the park at 9 a.m. Contact Daniel Leonard 641-344-3458 for more information.
Afternoon events include a baby contest in the park at 1 p.m. Kids games in the park for ages four to adult begin at 2 p.m. Enjoy foot/sack races and egg toss.
Bags Tournament starts at 3 p.m. Sign up and tournament will be held at the park. Contact Shain Sites, 641-820-1110.
Foam Party from Five One Foam will be held from 4-5 p.m. All ages will enjoy mountains of cool, clean foam and nonstop fun.
Homemade ice cream and a slice of something will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. for a free will offering.
The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. In person registration will begin at 5 p.m. on the Fourth at parade headquarters at the Old Clearfield Nursing Home at the Corner of North Street and Jefferson. Antique tractors are invited to carry state flags in the parade. All tractors line up west of the nursing home. Start assembling at 5:30 p.m. to pick up your flag.
The Pedal Pull begins right after the parade on Main Street at 7:30 p.m. Games will be held after the parade with brand new games, bingo, dart throw, and kids shuttles. All kids rides are 25 cents.
The Lions Club will have a food stand and food and snack trucks will be set up.
Two bands, Drew Fry Live and the Rick Hontz Family Band, will be held at two different locations.
Fireworks start at 10 p.m. and a drawing for money will be held after the fireworks.
While in Clearfield taking in all the activities, stop in at the Clearfield Café and the New Clearfield Museum.
