LMU makes changes in holiday policy

Lenox Municipal Utilities met on January 9 for their first meeting of the New Year and made changes in the holiday policy and talked about the awards program.
Jeff Tull, LMU manager, said the city added President’s Day to their holiday schedule and they close at noon on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Tull said LMU would like to line up with the city’s holidays and the board agreed. A floating holiday would also be added. LMU currently has eight paid holidays. A survey of other utility companies showed paid holidays were from six to 14 per year. Resolution P 1-25 was approved.
The board reviewed the LMU Awards Program policy. They give $25 for every five years an employee has worked for LMU. The city gives $1,000 each year from 10-15 years, $1,500 for 15-20 years, and $2,000 for 20+ years. Tull said he will do more research and bring it back to the board.
The board approved a resolution to remove cable TV from their communication rates
