Water, water everywhere
Mother Nature was not kind to southwest Iowa last Thursday as strong storms rolled through the area. Strong winds toppled trees and power lines, mainly in Adams County. Tile lines in fields overflowed making ponds out of fiends and creeks and rivers went out of their banks. The 102 River at Bedford went out of its banks and flooded the baseball and softball fields. By late afternoon,
the river had receded from the ball fields. Kids played in standing water on the Merry Flat Playground and in the ditches on the west side of the ball fields.
