Ladoga Prayer Chapel available to all those needing a place to pray

West of Bedford on State Highway 2 is the Ladoga-LaBlance Orchards, with its over 1,000 trees. This is home to Rev. Steven and Cynthia Wainwright. But behind the orchard, Rev. Steve has built church camp and pond. His newest addition to the beautiful scenery is a prayer chapel.
Rev. Steve recently retired from ministry and has spent the last three months focusing on prayer. He felt called to grow in his prayer life and also felt called to build a place focused, especially, on prayer.
The 14×40 building, built by a Mennonite family from the Pickering area, was moved to the property in May and has been dedicated as the Ladoga Prayer Chapel. The prayer chapel design is a replica of a famous historical church in Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Star Brand Church. “I felt the design would truly encourage people in their life to become closer to God through prayer,” said Rev. Steve. The prayer chapel is open to anyone and everyone, 24/7.
Rev. Steve feels everyone needs somewhere to go to find peace and serenity, and the purpose of the prayer chapel is to provide that place, especially for those who are in pain and hurting, or to pray for others. “My hope that upon seeing this prayer chapel one will experience the peace that only Christ can give us,” said Rev. Steve.
Inside the chapel there are many pictures and trinkets depicting prayer or Jesus Christ. He is always taking donations of items to put in the prayer chapel.
Besides being a house of prayer, the chapel can be used for small weddings, baptisms, and dedications to the Lord.
Rev. Steve is also available for Christian counseling. He can be reached at 712-303-7766.
