New Market’s Memory Walk
At Sunday’s Memory Walk at New Market’s Memory Cemetery, families shared stories about veterans. The Herby Walter DeBolt family, wife Lorraine, sons Curt and Alan, and granddaughter Ashley, talk about Herby’s service time in the Army during the Korean Conflict. About 85 attended the event.

Ashley Hardy, great granddaughter of Roger Raymond Long, talks about his time in the service during World War II. He was a prisoner of war and, on the left in the above photo, he drew a detailed map of the different places where he was held prisoner. Other family members present were Rodney Long, son, and Leanne (Harvey) Hardy, granddaughter. Other veterans recognized along the Memory Walk were Harrison Benjamin Hankins, Ward Grant Roberts, Richard H. Morgan, Vincent R. Thornburg, Karg Brothers, Alvin, Homer, Robert, Harvey, Jesse Carroll Brown.
