Ava Kennan qualifies for state in bowling

Ava Kennan, a junior at Lenox Community School, placed in the top four in bowling at the district meet in Red Oak on February 17. Cauy Miller is the bowling coach.
At the 1A district meet in Red Oak, Ava bowled a 528 series, beating out the fifth place finisher by three pins. She bowled a 185, 160, and a 183. Lenox competed against four other schools.
She competed on February 24 in the state meet in Waterloo at Cadillac XBC. She bowled three games at state against 32 girls from 1A schools.
Ava started bowling as a freshman. “It’s exciting,” said Ava. “I’ve really enjoyed it, grateful for the new opportunities and experiences.”
“Ava is the most consistent bowler I have had all season,” said Coach Miller. “She is able to remain resilient under any conditions. This is what makes her such a special bowler. She always finds a way to do well.”
Ava’s parents are Melissa Butler and TJ Butler.
