Lenox Tiger Track Rundown

The Lenox Tiger track teams were in action twice this past week. First the boys and girls teams traveled to Nodaway Valley to compete in the Pride of Iowa Track and Field Championships, and second both teams competed in the Mt. Ayr Relays. Monday at the POI Championships the girls finished 5th overall with 52 points, and the boys finished runner-up overall with 136 points—falling to Mt. Ayr by just 1.5 team points. The girls had one 1st Place finish: Bentley Petersen, Zoey Reed, Sadie Cox, and Kinzie Menefee won the Sprint Medley Relay. The boys had five first place finishes: Gabe Funk in the 200 Meter Dash, Gabe Funk in the 110 Meter High Hurdles, Gabe Funk in the open 400 Meter Dash, Gabe Funk in the 400 Meter Low Hurdles, and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Jordan Martin-England, Kolben Robinson, Caden Kaufman, and Wylie Brokaw.
Thursday the 8th the Tigers took part in the Mt. Ayr Relays. The girls had medalists in two events. The boys came home with a 1st Place trophy winning the meet with 138 points and a medalist in 11 total events. First place finishers for the Tigers were: The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Jordan Martin-England, Caden Kaufman, Dawson Evans, and Gabe Funk- Gabe Funk in the 110 Meter High Hurdles- Gabe Funk in the 400 Meter Low Hurdles- The 4×800 Meter Relay team of Owen Grundman, Colton Haidsiak, Wylie Brokaw, and Patton Adams- The Distance Medley Relay team of Brody Brokaw, Andy Flah, Jordan Martin-England, and Caden Kaufman.
The Lenox Track teams will be in action once more in regular season action at Central Decatur on Monday the 12th, and then will compete in the State Qualifying Meet on Thursday the 15th in Griswold. Tiger Pride!
