Reed Hits Grand Slam
The Lenox Tiger softball team went 0-5 on the week falling to Lamoni, Southeast Warren, Mt. Ayr, and East Union this past week. Although the outcomes weren’t exactly what the Tigers were working for there were several bright spots on the week as the ladies prepare for the upcoming postseason.
Monday the Tigers fell in a tight non-conference game against Lamoni. The Demons scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to comeback and beat the visiting Tigers 11-10.
Tuesday the 23rd Lenox hosted Southeast Warren and fell in both games of a double header to the Pride of Iowa leading and state rated Warhawks. Avvy Curtis and Piper Brokaw each had singles.
Thursday the Tigers hit the road to Mt. Ayr and fell to the Raiders by a final score of 1-8.
Tiger Baseball Goes 4-1 On the Road
The Lenox Tiger baseball team put together a solid week that ended with four wins and just one loss. The Tiger offense was on par out scoring their opponents 41-18 on the week.
Monday the Tigers started the week on the road at Griswold. The Black and Gold Tigers dismantled the Blue Tigers by a final score of 17-5.
This past Tuesday the Tigers were on the road for a double header at Southeast Warren.
Game two was much closer than the first, but the Tigers were able to secure the sweep of the double-header vs. SEW by a final score of 4-2.
Thursday the Tigers were back on the road again, in Pride of Iowa Conference play, this time at long time rival Mt. Ayr. The Tigers scored one in the top of the first while Mt. Ayr plated two in the bottom of the inning- The Tigers tied it up 2-2 in the fourth and took a one run lead in the fifth before Mt. Ayr once again countered tie things up 3-3 going into the seventh- The Tigers were able to manufacture just enough offense to score the winning run in the top of the seventh inning to collect their fourth win of the week.
